This policy applies to the LegacyGuide iOS and Android applications and the supporting cloud services operated by LegacyGuide ("we", "us", "our"). It describes the personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the rights available to you.
By using LegacyGuide you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
We collect the following categories of information:
What we do not collect. Document attachments, selected photos, and voice recordings you add to LegacyGuide remain on your device and are not included in the shared-plan payload sent to our servers. User-initiated exports are sent only to the destination you choose and are not retained by us.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell or rent personal data to third parties, and we do not engage in cross-app tracking or behavioural analytics.
Most working data in LegacyGuide is stored locally on your device. Information you deliberately publish for a trusted person is encrypted on your device before it is transmitted to our cloud infrastructure. All data in transit uses encrypted connections (TLS). Access to stored data is protected by authentication and access controls.
No security measures are absolute, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed in an unauthorised way. We will notify you of any breach as required by applicable law.
We do not sell personal data. We share information only with service providers that help us operate LegacyGuide, and only to the extent necessary for that purpose. Current providers include:
We may also disclose information where required to do so by law, court order or regulatory authority, or where necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of LegacyGuide, our users or others.
We retain your information for as long as it is required to provide the service to you or until you request deletion. Some information may be retained for longer where required by law or legitimate security purposes, and residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period after deletion before those backups expire.
You can delete your account in LegacyGuide or use our account deletion page. You may also contact us at privacy@legacyguide.app.
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict processing of, object to processing of, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@legacyguide.app. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
LegacyGuide allows you to include contact details and personal messages relating to other people — trusted persons, beneficiaries and others you mention in your plan. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to provide that information and, where required, the consent of the people concerned.
LegacyGuide is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at privacy@legacyguide.app and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of LegacyGuide after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you in the app.
